"How To Select A Profitable domain name That Search
Engines Love To index?"
Domain name- introduction
William Shakespeare might be wrong!
There is so much in a name...Especially in the cyber
world. . . in a domain
name.
Your domain name
determines your online identity.
Your domain name is your
online address to your visitors that recognizes
your website . It is absolutely necessary that you have
an identity, a domain
name , if you are serious about constructing a
profitable internet home business.
Usually your potential customers search by using search
engines, or by searching from their browser address bars, and
they reach your web site by your domain name.
All the browsers are supported by the major search
engines.
You should have a domain name that
contains your principle keywords so that it can easily be
indexed by search engines.
Most of the search engines when indexing a web site,
give a distinctive advantage to sites which have their
keywords in their domain names. So if
you want to be a successful net entrepreneur, it is imperative
that to have a domain name with a
high profitable keyword . And then It can easily be get
indexed by search engines and directories, in order to people
to find you.
All over the world, to avoid confusion surrounding
different languages, a standard for domain name, American
standard code --roman alphabets used in the English
languages-- has been used for information interchange, by the
web browsers. Letters, numbers, hyphens are permitted.
No under bars, exclamation marks, periods, etc.
A
domain name has two parts:
1)
TLD-Top Level Domain name- which determines your general
image.
For example: .com, .biz, .info, .net, .org . .
.In the domain name www.google.com, .com is the top
level domain.
Always try to get a ".com" top level
domain
name for your business site.
People will easily recognize your site as a
professional business place than with top level domains such
as ".net", ".org", ".info", etc which have a non
profitable image, even though it may not be the case always.
2)
MLD-Mid Level Domain name- determines your
identity.
It
should describe your site accurately and at the same time
attract potential customers.
Mid level domain name can have maximum of 67
characters.
It is known that Netscape browser allows only 59
characters and in yahoo directory only 54.
So
make it short. And it should be easily pronounceable and easy
to spell.
Your customers should be able to remember your domain
name easily and at the same time it should describe the
purpose of your website in one or two keywords. The more
people remember your simple and short domain name, the more
traffic; hence the profit.
Having your principle high profitable keyword in your
domain name can bring you targeted visitors easily from search
engines.
So your domain name
-
should be similar to your website name,
-
reflect the theme of your site,
-
contains high profitable keywords,
-
easy to remember and
-
should have a top level domain name in '.com'.

In
the vastly over crowded internet market place . . . . . . . .
.
it is very difficult to have a
domain name that satisfies all these
requirements.
