Linking by sites, defined by search engines, is a natural acknowledgement of
having good content in that site to which other sites are
linking to.
When you offer a link to a site, search engines consider it as your acknowledgement to that site which has quality content. Hence, try to be as natural as it could be possible when you involve in reciprocal link building as a part of your search engine optimization strategy.

Search for your keywords in
google. Put the keyword in quotes to make your search accurate. Write

All these sites may not be content sites and appropriate for link exchange. Select the top ten sites similar to your site in content and theme.
Once you have selected your linking partners,
you then prepare for a link offer. First, add your potential partners link to your site and try to make a few good observations about their content, products and services.
Write a good professional looking letter, saying that you have impressed by their content and
services. Give them a good survey like feed back. And if possible make one or two appropriate comments.
Invite them for a link exchange after explaining the benefits you both can achieve by this exchange. Mention that you have already added their link and in return you expect them to add your link to their site.
Repeat the same procedure to offer link exchange to the remaining nine potential partners in the google top ten results.

looksmart, etc.
Another method to find sites that are willing to add links is that to investigate a popular content site similar in theme to your site. Type in the google search bar, "link" followed by the domain name of that popular site- "link: www.site-name.com"- to find out the sites linking to that site.
If your site is similar in theme and has enough content, invite those sites to link to your
site who are linking to that popular site, which most of them would do happily.
The
only disadvantage in this manual linkage method is that it consumes more
time and rather boring. You get dejected soon if do it practically.
