Search engine optimization of keywords in content
Do You know that one has to be extremely
care full in using keywords when creating a website that
you want search engines to find and rate high!?
Positioning the keywords in your content,
to some extend, determines the success of your search engine optimization efforts.
For strategic search engine optimization placements of keywords,
you have to take care of a few factors, like keyword prominence, keyword proximity, keyword density, keyword frequency, . . .
keyword prominence
Search engines prefer certain positions for placements of keywords in content of a web page. They give prominence to some positions on a web page that make it easier to spider them and calculate algorithms accordingly.
In order to do correct search engine optimization to impress search engine spiders, try to place your high KEI keywords at the top of your web page, two or three times in the first paragraph.
Place at least one keyword in every paragraph of your content. Popular wisdom says to "sprinkle keywords all over the content intelligently". And
also in the concluding paragraph, mention your high profitability keyword two or three times.
Even though it is preferred by search engines, that a good search engine optimization method begins the web content with a high profitability keyword and also ends the page with the same keyword, you can rarely do it on every page of your web site.
Do not bother much about this difficult search engine optimization method suggested by some of the search engines.
keyword density
In effective search engine optimization, the ratio of total number of keywords to the total number of words in content, influences in determining top ranking of the
web page. The minimum number of words required on a web page, to avoid being rated as duplicate content, is 500.
Though there are no written rules by search engines, the minimum number of keywords required on a web page, will be between 15 to 30.
That makes the keyword density- the ratio of number of keywords to the total number of words on a
web page, usually expressed in percentage- for a successful search engine optimization service to be as 3% to 6%. Keyword density is also known as keyword weight.
keyword frequency
Placing keywords some where on the web page will not consider as an intelligent search engine optimization method. You have to place them evenly. The point is that, every "sample" taken from the web page, should contain a keyword.
It's not that you place a few keywords here and there of the content conveniently, but place them in such a way that it makes the "salt effect"- nicely blended with the search engine fodder, giving taste of, what is served in the content.
Position at least one keyword per paragraph will give a reasonable keyword frequency.
keyword proximity
Search engines do not index "stop words" and "filler words" like- is, and, our, I, we, you, that, of, etc. It is also noted that in the recent years, most of the people, whenever they use a search engine to find information in a specific topic, use keywords in "quotes".
To help search engines provide targeted information, position your keywords, close together, without having stop or filler words in between them.
For example:
instead of, search engine optimization
for top ranking
in google, write keywords as, search engine top ranking, or,
search engine optimization top
ranking in google!
